Wylie/Wiley: James Wylie b June 11,1807 Poyntzpass, Co. Down, Northern Ireland,emigrated to Canada 1835. Served in Militia Rebellion of '37. Went to Michigan. Later settled Tilbury West Twp., Essex Co, Ontario, Canada. James m. Mary Pool/Poole b 1821 Castle Milk, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Mary d. 1875 and James d. 1890 leaving 6 sons and daughters, Christopher, George (my Grandfather), John, Margaret (m. Sam Palmer), Mary (m. McLaren J. Thomas), Jessie (m. James Cavanagh). Apparently James Wylie was related to Martha Wylie who m. William English and emigrated to Kent Co, Ontario, Canada in 1834 from County Down, Northern Ireland. Seeking any info on ancestors, siblings, and descendants of James Wylie.
