Mary (Polly) Wiley from Chester, SC married Rush Hudson b. abt 1809 Amherst County,VA, married Polly before 1830, probably in Chester, as he is in the 1830 census there in 1830. Mary (Polly) was probably married first to a Woolard or Willard and had a child - and perhaps some brothers or sisters lived with them; the 1830 census shows them to be both between 20-30, but also shows 1 male under 5,1 10-15 another male 20-30 in addition to Rush and a female 10-15.
The 1850 census shows they had moved to Jackson County, AK.

This shows that Mary was born abt 1805 and my family has her born 23 Jul 1804,presumably from her grave at Diaz Cem., Diaz, Jackson Co AR. Some referances list a son George born before 1830 - the male under 5 perhaps in the 1830 census. John was John Rush, named after Rush Hudson's father. There was a Samuel next, perhaps named after Mary's father though Rush had a grandfather Samuel.Mary Ellen is next, and as an adult went by Ellen. Frances was called Fannie and Catherine was caled Kate. The only other names that do not fit the Hudson or other known family members are Kate's children Gustave and Theodore.
Do any Wiley families out there recognize any of these names? The family story goes that Mary(Polly) Wiley's parents came from Scotland, so while she was born in Chester, most likely, they may not have been. Lyn
