Hi Ken
Thanks again for all the information but I have been researching Moses Wray and the Mose Wray you refer to in message 1616 was a different Moses Wray I believe. There was a Moses Wray in Albemarle co Va in 1747 and there was the Moses Wray who you referred to living on Maggotty Creek in what was then Lunenburg co Va and now Franklin co Va. According to Carrie who post on the Ray family surname of Genforum Moses Wray living in Albemarle co Va in 1747 and who wrote his will in 1766 in Amherst co Va did have a son named Moses Wray. I believe that is the Moses wray you referred to. According to her Moses Wray Jr was born in 1735. That would have made him too young to have woned land in 1747 if she is correct about when he was born. The will of the Moses Wray you referred to that died in 1802 in Franklin co Va was the son of the Moses Wray who wrote his will in 1766 in Amherst co Va. Amherst co Va was formed from Albemarle co Va in the early 1760's. I believe the Moses Wray who was living on Maggotty Creek in 1747 listed with Benjamin Wray and Joseph Wray was the brother of Joseph Wray who was the first Sheriff of Bedford co Va and I believe he probably died in Bedford co Va in the 1770's or maybe sooner but therer were definately two Moses Wrays in the Albemarle co and Lunenburg co Va area in 1747 and Moses Wray who died on 1802 I don't believe was one of them unless he was born in 1825 as you said. Would you remember where you were able to find the information that he was born in 1725? If he was born in 1725 then he would have been old enough to have owned land in 1747 but if he was born in 1735 as Carrie says then he would not have been old enough to have owned land in 1747. Thanks, Ross
