Ken
I was thinking that my George Wray born in the 1740's might have been a descendant of the Benjamin Wray,Ray,Rea through Moses Rea living in Lunenburg co Va in 1748 but the more I research I find that he was in the Meherrin Parish area of Brunswickco Va south of the Meherrin River where all te other Wrays lived in the 1740's-1770's. He was probably a descendant of one of those wrays. Would you kno if the Wrays in Lunnburg co Va in the late 1740's and te Wrays in Brunswick co Va in the late 1740's were reled? I think they were different families or at last different branches. George bought his first land in Brunswick co Va in 1769 and sold his land in 1777. I think he went to NC then to Georgia by 1786. Worth s Ray said in a leter he wrote that the Rays who were descendants of Benjamin went to Chatham co North Carolina. I know there were many mistakes in his work but would yo know of any of Benjamin Wray's descendants that went to Chatham co NC or maybe Orange co NC that became Chatham co NC. Chatham co NC is next to Wake co NC.
