Hi Ross, Joseph Wray who lived on Maggotty Creek in 1747 purchased land from Richard Randolph on March 23, 1761 and his sons Andrew and John Wray sold this land Sep 15, 1786 after Joseph Wray died. the land was 300 acres on both sides of Maggotty Creek.
On Oct 27, 1785, Moses, Moses Jr., James, Ben, Daniel, Ezekial Wray signed the petition to make Franklin Co from Bedford Co. Va. I have hundreds of pages of records of the Wray Family in Virginia. My wife and I have been doing this for over 50 years and we have lots of wills and land records and estates. We have visited all of these places. The Fletcher Wray Farm is now owned by a family named Stone. Fletcher Wray's house burned down and they have a new house and there is an old log house out in back which is well preserved. Ken Wray
