Woodsons and Crocketts and back to Virginia

I've been studying the Woodsons for a while and it is interesting that a Woodson was a stepfather to General Stonewall Jackson....(but apparently only briefly, and not a very satisfactory situation to anyone in the family). What I haven't seen discussed (and 'scuse me if I missed it) is the fact that the great uncle of Davy Crockett raised a Woodson as his greatly loved son, and in fact the son is buried in the Crockett graveyard. Go to the Jessamine county Ky website ,for the info. Also, the Woodsons became very closely allied to the earliest gentry of Virginia, through marriages. Directly, or indirectly to Randolphs, Lees, Paynes, Bollings, Pleasants, and on and on. Its an interesting sidelight of the Woodsons and I recommend it to anyone looking for historical conncections. The descendants of Robert, son of John and Sarah, have more famous relations/descendants that John (son of John and Sarah), or at least so I've come across...Im of the John the younger line.
