I am looking any info on John Woods. He was born in 1770 in Germany, he had a blockhouse in Hazel Patch, KY, Laurel County, KY. It is said that he was the first resident of Laurel County, KY. I can't find anymore info on him. Woods was not his real name, he adopted Woods because his real last name was a long German name. His kids were Rueben Woods b. 1790 in NC, John Woods b. 1799 in Kentucky, and Augusta G. Woods b. 1818. Any info about him in Germany and his real last name would be helpfull
