Joe Eldridge Woods, 79, Church Hill, Hawkins Co TN, passed
away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical
Center.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great
grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and
spending time with his great grandson, Khristian Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Woods and
Fannie Freeman Woods; brothers, Marion 'Puny' Woods,
William 'Babe' Woods, Hershel Woods, J. T. Woods, O. M.
Woods, Archie Woods, Carl Woods, and Rob Woods; sisters,
Lucille Blizzard and Mildred Crigger.
Survivors include his wife, Mogeline H. Woods; son, Darrell
Woods and his wife, Kay of Church Hill, TN; daughter,
Nadine Deal of Church Hill, TN; granddaughter, Natasha
Bailey, and her husband, Andy; great grandchild, Khristian
Bailey; step grandchildren, Chris and Josh Skeens; step
great grandchildren, Dylan Mendenhall, Logan and Zoey
Skeens; brother, Claude Woods of IL; sisters, Ruby Gibbons
and Julie Francisco, both of Kingsport, TN; and several
nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, July 31,
2009, at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m., in the
funeral home chapel with Rev. Regina Shelton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Andy Bailey, Larry Housewright, Eddie
Gibbons, Tommy Derrick, Tommy Cox, Kelly Sullivan, and
Paul Housewright. Honorary bearers will be Bill Hull, Jim
Woods, Aubrey Flick, Charles Hunt, and Lawrence Stapleton.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, August 1,
2009, at 1 p.m., at Church Hill Memory Gardens, Hawkins Co
TN.
