According to T.D.'s death certificate his parents were Edward Woods and Arminta Densmore and was born in Hocking County. His parents are listed as having been born in Ohio. They wrote in one maiden name for his mother, scratched that out and wrote Densmore above it. My guess is that they first wrote in the name she got after she remarried. Of course the information is only as good as what the informant believed.

Considering his middle name it is quite possible his mother's maiden name was indeed Densmore (Dinsmore).

You can see his death certificate at: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1195390820093#p=collectionDetails;t=searchable;c=1307272
