Looking for Edward Woods. He married Arrimenta Chedley 16 August 1840 Muskingum County Ohio (LDS). They had a son, Thomas Densmore Woods in 1842. Upon his fathers death, T.D was left with the Joel Gibison's family in Laurel Twp. Gibisonville Hocking County Ohio. His mother remarried and disappeared.

My guess is that Arrimenta’s last name was hard to read and the archivist read it wrong. Can’t find any Chedley’s.

I found EDWARD on the Harrison, Muskingum, Ohio 1850 Census. 1male 20-30, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 15-20.

There’s a SIMON, 1 male 15-20, 1 male 20-30, 1 male 40-50, 1 female under 5, 2 famales 5-10, 1 female 30-40 and a WILLIAM, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 20-30, 1 male 60-70, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 50-60, also living in Harrison, Muskingum, Ohio in 1850. William lives a couple of farms away and Simon a little further than that. I figure William is the father and Simon and Edward are sons.

Other 1850 Muskingum County Woods, JEREMIAH, Muskingum, JEREMIAH, Meigs Twp., JEREMIAH, Newton Twp., ADAM, Zanes Twp., JESE, Newton Twp., JNO, Zanes Twp., and SAML, Newton Twp.

According to the HISTORY OF HOCKING VALLEY 1883, Thomas Densmore Woods parents were Edward and Arminta Woods from Muskingum County.

T.D married Sarah (Sallie) WHITCRAFT. They had two daughters, but only one lived to adulthood. Nevada J Woods was born in 1868 Laurel Twp. Hocking County Ohio. Sallie died when Nevada (Nada) was very young.

Nada married William Tecumseh BRASHARES in 1887. They had my husband's grandmother, Pansy Merle Brashares and daughter, Velva Brashares. They had a son, Ferdie, but he died at age of 1.

Pansy married David WYLIE of Tioga County Pennsylvania in Hocking County and settled in Gibisonville Ohio. They had 4 children.

If anyone knows who this Edward is, let me know...

Thank you!
