Madisonville Democrat, (Monroe Co. TN) Wednesday, August 22, 1928, Page 3:
“John A. Woods, aged 66 years, died at his home in Etowah [McMinn Co. TN], Tuesday afternoon of last week of Bright’s disease. He leaves one brother and two sisters as follows: Mrs. G.L. Henderson of Madisonville and Mrs. J.H. Kelso of Wellington, Texas, and T.D. Woods of Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon by Rev. F.M. Waugh of Etowah, after which his remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at this place. The relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.”
