Hello all, I have been looking for Bird/Woods connections (there are many), and coming up with some things of interest... Re: http://www.newrivernotes.com/va/washsurv.htm Page 396 - Archibald, William, Joseph and Robert Woods - 31 ac - treasury warrant #17130 - on the waters of Woolf Creek, a north branch of Holstein River - corner to their patent land - April 2, 1792 _____________________ The above information has convinced me that Robert Woods of Frankin Co., VA is the one named in the above survey. I suspect that he is a son of Archibald. (Although Robert Woods did not name a son Archibald, he DID name a daughter Isabella.) The 1778-1780 Tax Lists of Henry Co. VA by Lela C. Adams has the following information for 1779: 1779 Woods, John 1779 Woods, Robert 1779 Woods, Joseph I don't know what happened to Joseph Woods. ____________________ About John Woods, see the following: The Douglas Register: Being a Detailed Register of Births, Marriages and Deaths...As Kept by the Rev. William Douglas, from 1750 to 1797 in St. James, Northern Parish in the Co. of Goochland: (Marriages not recorded by Rev. Wm. Douglas, but indicated by the Birth Registry of the first child in this registry.) p. 122 WOOD, John and Sarah Byrd 23 Jan 1762 I have determined that a John Woods is located near Samuel Bird (her brother) on the Chestnut Creek in Henry County VA abt. 1782. I believed (not proven) that they had a daughter Hannah, who married Nathaniel Mason abt. 1789 in Franklin County. Other than this, I don't have much on this family. I'm looking for anyone who can share information about the above people. Thank you, Marla Moore Notify Administrator about this message?
