I have information on William John Wood who was in the Royal Navy, a Greenwich pensioner. He married Ann Eden nee Tuffery in Mylor, Cornwall in 1837. Their marriage record states his father was William Wood, a hair dresser. Trying to find out who this elder William was. William John was born about 1810 in Sheerness, Isle of Sheppy, England. William and Ann lived in Melcombe Regis, Dorset. Their son (my ancestor) William John Wood also joined Navy. Later her was the lock keeper at Marlow, Buckinghampshire, England.
