Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of Nathan S. "Nate" Wood (1840-1917), who served in the Fourth New York Heavy Artillery during the Civil War. He started his military service as a private in 1862 and ended the war as a captain and brevet major. After mustering out with his regiment, Wood lived in Michigan and Oregon. His wife, Kittie, survived him. His photograph may be viewed here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8026096@N04/3836666136/
