My maternal grandmother was a Wint. She was born in Bunkie, LA. She graduated from Xavier U. in New Orleans with a BS in nursing. She got a job as a R.N. in Orange, TX. But when they found out that she was Black, they demoted her to an LPN. She went to work for the US Navy Housing authority. She married a Silas Jackson.
there was another family of Wints in Orange, TX., but they were not related.
