Hey, Jason,
Say "Hi" to your dad. He's my first cousin. I'm going to do some looking into both Grammie and Grampie's geneology. This is my first look.

I may have more information than you do at this point, though, I don't have a lot of answers to a number of questions.

That's what it's all about. Finding answers to those questions.

Okay, here is what I have....At least a part of it at this point.

On Jonathan Calvin Westgate
He married Harriet Sybella Case who was born in Spruce Hollow, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1840. Her father was Jonathan Case and his father was Adam Case and his mother was Anna Bedine

Harriet was married to John Benwit Davis in 1858 and divorced in 1861.

Harriet married Jonathan Calvin westgate in Dekalb, Ill. on March 8, 1863

Jonathin Calvin Westgate was born November 17, 1827 and died March 22, 1902 in Camanche
He lived in Illinois up to 1880. Since then, he made his home in Iowa

He was a harness maker.

Jonathin Calvin Westgate's father was William Warilin Westgate who resided in Pennsylvania

Harriet's children were
Georgia (Davis) Gugenbuklin born October 22, 1858
William Wanton Westgate born January 3, 1864 and remained unmarried
Charles Case Westgate born August 27, 1866 and he married Maude Case
Milton Brewer born February 4, 1867 who married Minnie Livinston (these were Lewis Edwin Westgate's parents)
Emily Dora born October 1, 1868 and married Amos N. Herten and died October 8, 1902
Mable Alice born April 13, 1871 married Charles Miller 1890 ( wonder if this is the Mable who was a "lady of the evening")
George LeRoy was born October 2, 1872
Orin Aluazo born October 14, 1874
Martha Elizabeth born March 19, 1878 and married John Gordon
Last 3 sons died in infancy

Jonathan Calvin Westgate was made Justice of the Peace of Mealta, Dekalb County, Ill. June 3, 1864

Jonathan Calvin Westgate was made Police Magistrate of Mealta, Dekalb County, Illinois on April 19, 1870.

Jonathan C. westgate had a pension certifiace dated June 24, 1890

In August 8, 1900 Jonathan Calvin Westgate was in Cordova, Illinois

Milton Brewer Westgate married Minnie Livingston (Westgate) and moved to Camanche November 1901.

I have some more information, but, thought you might be interested in this much.

Tell your dad "Hi" from Rosie.

Rose
