Thelma, I believe that Elizabeth (Vaughn) Walker King's identiy has been known for many years. I do not have a marriage date for Elizabeth and James Walker, but bef 1760. James' will idenified his 2nd wife, as only Elizabeth. James first wife Mary Ann (Sanders) d bef 1765.

Elizabeth was the daughter of James Vaughn b 1719 d aft 1791 & Mary. Elizabeth married John King on 7 May 1803 in Orange Co., NC, but I never attempted to get copy of the marriage license, as the trail seemed solid.

There were several lawsuits against John King and wife, Elizabeth, the former wife of James Walker deceased. The dispute was over slaves and land. There are no records showing any children of John and Elizabeth, which would have been most unlikely,as she married John when she was about 54. Elizabeth was positively the wife of James Walker.

I was curious about the " Walker V." you mentioned, who was grandson of Elizabeth, as I don't have such a person in my file.
Good hunting. Hope this helps. W.Ray Walker
