John Eastwood and wigfe Hannah were founding members of the Goshen Baptist Church established by Jacob Vanmeter on Muddy Creek in What is now Green Co., Pa. They were also members of the party that left that area in 1779 to go to Kentucky. John and Joseph Eastwood were stationed at Squire Boone's Painted Stone Station in Shelby Co., Ky. Also, earlier, John Eastwood is among the men that petitioned the court of Yogohania, Pennsylvania to travel unmolested to the fails of the Ohio (Louisville). Abraham Vanmeter and Robert Tyler were also a members of this group. I beleive they had been sent back to Penn. to secure supplies for George Rogers Clark's Illinois campaign. So you see, John Eastwood and Abraham Vanmeter are very closely associated. I beleive John Eastwood's wife Hannah was either a Vanmeter, Cline, Rice or Tyler, But I have not been able to find any positive evidence of this.
