1. CLYDE ORWELL5 TURNIPSEED (DANIEL B.4, CHRISTOPHER L.3, CHRISTOPHER2, JACOB1) was born Abt. October 1875 in Summerset, Warren County, Iowa, and died Abt. 1971. He married BLANCHE MAUDE BISHOP Bef. 1900, daughter of JOHNATHON BISHOP and SUSAN VANCE. She was born January 16, 1881 in Springhill, Warren County, Iowa, and died Abt. April 1978 in Fremont, Alameda County, California.

Clyde was a coal miner. He was living in Indianola, Iowa at the time of his mother's death in 1938.

Obituary from Des Moines Register, Tuesday, September 7, 1999:

Muriel A. Turnipseed, 97, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Saturday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Indianola First Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at IOOF City Cemetery.
Born in Summerset, Mr. Turnipseed had lived near Indianola most of his life and retired in 1961 from Iowa Power Co. One of the oldest participants in the Iowa Games, he had won a medal for bowling.
Among survivors are his wife, Amy; two sons, Clyde of San Jose, Calif., and Bob of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Charlene Chatham of Pacheco, Calif., and Judy Stoll of Rantoul, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Sharon Green Kemmis of Indianola; three foster children, Beverly Stockton of Indianola, Mary Lou O'Neal of Terrell, Texas, and Jerry Stockton of Catharpin, Va.; a sister, Ruth Podvant of Livermore, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Indianola Senior Center.

Steven O. Turnipseed, 68, of Indianola, formerly of Des Moines, died of cancer, Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital after a three-year illness.
There will be no services. The body has been willed to College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery for medical research.
Mr. Turnipseed was born in Cooperstown, N.D., and lived in Des Moines 30 years before moving to Indianola two years ago. He was a retired restaurant cook.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Van Tuyl of Concord, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Podvant of Isleton, Calif., and Mrs. Lula Pollard of Fremont, Calif.; three brothers, Muriel of Indianola, Daniel of Tracy, Calif., and Loren of El Cerrito, Calif., and his mother, Mrs. Blanche Turnipseed of Fremont, Calif.
