The Semic' church records have been filmed by the LDS and are available for borrowing through your nearest FHC. It will take you far more time than you will probably have to do your searching in the church archives in Ljubljana. It took me three years (two sessions a week) to search the Semic' films at the FHC for my mother's family. There is a lot of name duplication and just sorting out the various families of the same name was a monumental task in itself. There are a few gaps in the records as well as the Familienbuch which are not on film. I did visit the archives later to fill in from those sources. Mind you, I'm not discouraging a trip to Slovenia. It is a spectacularly beautiful place and a wonderful way to connect with your heritage. I highly recommed it.
