I may be able to help.

My last name is spelled "Tumpey", but the original spelling was "Tompej". I have traced my family to Austria/Slovenia in the Strazgoryce, Steiermark region where my Great Grandfather last lived in 1906 before coming to the USA. There are many Tumpey's, Tompey's, Tumpej's on Facebook that are all related and/or are suspected to be related.
