I think I can get you started. Philip R. Shelly is the son of Christian B. Shelly and Barbara Rosenberger. (Philip got his middle name from her surname.)

Christian's parents were Samuel Shelly, b. ca. 1780, and Anna Beidler. Samuel and Anna's other children were Charles, 5 Feb 1808 - 13 Jan 1870, and John, 5 Jul 1811 - 25 Aug 1882.

I don't have info on Christian C. Shelly whom you mention but might be able to find something if you have more info on where he was born and where he lived.

The best sources I've seen for Christian B. Shelly are:

- Rev. A. J. Fretz, "A Genealogical Record of the Descendants of Henry Rosenberger," (Milton, NJ: no pub., 1906).

- 1860 Census (recorded as Christian B. Shelly)

- 1870 Census (recorded as Chris Shelly)

- 1880 Census (recorded as Christian Shelly)

I decsended from Samuel Shelly and Anna Beidler.

Let me know if you are interested in pursuing this further.
Best regards. Lee J. Irwin
