Schumanns of San Antonio, Texas

My Grandmother was Clara Schumann. Sh had at least two brothers: Walter and Gus (?Gustave?) and at tleast one sister: Emma. They were born in San Antonio. Their father was a botanist who had been hirted by the Mexican government to classify cacti. This Schumann (probably Walter Sr.) entered the United States from Mexico and cam e to San Antonio, Texas. He married a Boehler (?Baylor?). He came from a well to do family in Germany and he was something of an academic or a Rennaisance man. He spoke English, German, Italian, Spanish and French. I can't trace his birthplace or his parents. Any clues?
