Hi there,
My name is Laneene Rutherford, I live here in New Zealand and am on the journey of tracing my Rutherford family in the Borders.
Until yesterday (11/04/20090 I'd only been able to trace my Rutherford side back to my 4TH Great Grand parents but have now connected to my 6Th. After uploading info to Ancestry .com I found the connection to them.

I'm wondering if there is a connection to the Rutherford' from Fairnington as I understand from the Clan Rutherford website that many of those descendants came out to Australia and New Zealand.
Any help that you can give me will be very much appreciated. This has been a emotional journey as I knew very little about my family until October 2008. I had been asked to write down my history to my great grandparents and I was shamed to admit I didn't know anyone much past my grandparents. Since then I have started the journey to reconnect with my heritage my tree on Ancestry.com is under the name of Rutherford/Pickering/Cotton/Tobin.
