Hello, Emily, my cousins and I have been researching their father, Russell Thompson. He was adopted and according to 1920 census his name is George Russell and in the 1930 census his name has become Russell Thompson. While searching for his birth parents we ran across a death certificate for a George Russell who was shot and killed in 1916. 3 months after my Uncle Russ was born. It lists his parents as Martin Russell and Harriet Gidcomb.
