Hi,
I'm looking for the father of J.M. (James Marcus?) Russel. On the census of 1880, Prentiss Co., MS, J.M. was living with his widowed mother Mary and siblings W.H., T.B., H.M., and J.J.H. On that census, his father was listed as having been born in AL and his mother Mary in GA. J.M. married Flora Henderson around 1884 in Prentiss Co. On the census of 1900, Prentiss Co., Flora was widowed with two sons, Jesse (b. 1885)and John W.(b. 1888). By 1910 the three were in Hunt Co. TX.
One has to curse the census taker who used initials instead of names! If any of these initials or names are in your family tree, I would greatly appreciate hearing about them. Dee
