1. John1 Russell was born circa 1804 at GA. He married Mary (Russell) circa 1830 at AL? He married Nancy (--?--) before 1850; based on the Center Ridge Church records of Clarke county wife Nancy, and Dallas county AL 1850 census.
He appears to be the John in 1850 Dallas AL that looks to be married to a young 2nd wife name Nancy born 1825. This Nancy might even have been a daughter and not the wife. He does has son L.N. born 1838 in AL. I can NOT find a connection between the John Russell in Dallas County 1850 and the other Russell that came early to that area. There was John son of Mathew, that married Jane Waugh he died in 1837.
He is a better match to the John Russell found Smith County MS in 1860.
The John Russell found in Clark County after 1850 is found in Church records with a wife Nancy. Keep in mind there was another John Russell in Clark pre 1850. The early John Russell was married to Mary Knight in Marion County MS. He had died by 1850 and his wife has remarried.

"Grandparents on Papa's side (Andrew Leroy Russell), Littleton N. m Mary Carr, John m Mary ____, Abner Russell married John m Mary ____.
It appears that the Smith County John Russell might be the son of Absolom Russell.
As of 1840, John Russell (or the family of) lived at Dallas, AL. They appeared on the census; 100001 (30-40) - 21001 (20-30).
As of 1850, John Russell (or the family of) lived at 17/17, Dallas, AL. He appeared on the census; John 46/GA, Nancy 25/SC, Cathy 15/AL, Mary J. 16 , L.N. 12m , N.N. 10f, John 8M , M. J. 6F, Joseph 4M, Julia Ann E. 2F.
As of 1860, John Russell (or the family of) lived at Smith, MS. He appeared on the census; John Russell 56GA, Cyntha Russell 25AL, Vicy N Russell 21AL, John Russell 17AL, Martha J Russell 16AL, Joseph Russell 14AL, Jullian Russell 12AL, Susan A Russell 10AL, Sarah L Russell 7AL, Mathew Russell 25AL.

+ 4 iii. Littleton Nathaniel Russell was born on 3 Mar 1838 at Jackson, AL. He married Mary Etta Elizabeth Carr, daughter of John Peter Carr and Maranda Alexandra Rodus, on 4 Oct 1856 at Clarke Co Ms.
5 iv. Martha/Mary Jane Russell was born in 1844 at Dallas, AL.
6 v. Mary J. Russell was born in 1834 at Dallas, AL. She married Henry Francis Carr, son of John Peter Carr and Maranda Alexandra Rodus, on 24 Jul 1859 at Clarke, MS. She died before Aug 1865.
She and Henry Francis Carr I have not be able to locate this family. By 1870 he is found in Lawrence County and has remarried in 1860.

8 vii. John Russell was born in 1842 at Dallas, AL. He married Matilda (--?--).
As of 1870, John Russell (or the family of) lived at Smith, MS. He appeared on the census; 42/42 John B Russell 29AL, Matilda 34?24MS, Mary J 8MS, Julia A. E 5MS, Missouri A 2MS, Ellenora 4/12, Slender 14AL Farm Hand.
Next door is 43/43 is John Russell
45AL, son of Edmond Russell 1799-1860.

10 ix. Julia Ann E Russell was born in 1848 at Dallas, AL.
11 x. Susan A Russell was born in 1850 at MS or AL.
12 xi. Sarah L Russell was born in 1853 at MS or AL.
