Rummens from Canada

Hello,

I am from Lancaster, Ontario, Canada. I have been doing my family tree for a few years but haven't found very much that would lead to my part of the family tree.

My father is John Rummens born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on June 22, 1950. My grandfather is James Rummens born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on September 29, 1909. My great-grandfather is Francis Ferdinand Rummens born January 21, 1882. Francis Ferdinand's parents were from England and Scotland (or something like that). He had 1 twin brother, 4 brothers and a sister who became a nun.

My great-grandfather came over on one of the boats that were coming from Europe to Canada. He was only about 4 or 5. He married Margaret McDermott who is born on August 3, 1869 in Ireland.

I am not exactly sure of all the dates and places for my great-grandfather. We were told that he was from England and then we heard that Rummens was from either the Netherlands or else were.

I also heard that my great-great-grandfather was suppost have done something terribly wrong. My family is very secretive and it is very hard to get information from them.

If anyone has anything they would like to share, please email me at rummens@hotmail.com

Thanks everyone in advance for the help.

Lynn (Rummens) Vivaraies
