Paul or Napoleon Rousseau in Quebec to Vermont, USA

Would like to correspond with anyone who has researched Rousseau families who lived in Quebec and then moved to Vermont. I have a Paul Rousseau born November 1844, emigrated to USA about 1871-1872; lived at Rutland, Vermont and then at Bennington. His wife was Lena Laclair, daughter of Stepehen and Mary Laclair. Lena was born May 1859, most likely in Vermont.

I suspect that "my" Paul Rousseau...who also went by Napoleon, and also went by alternate surname BROOKS....was the son of Augustin Rousseau 1818-1852 (born at Ste. Claire, Rimouski, died most likely at Ste. Flavie, Rimouski) and his wife Eleonore Ouellet 1819-1871, who was born at Kamouraska, Quebec. Augustin and Eleonore are on the 1851 census at Ste. Flavie with children Elizabeth Rousseau age 9 years, Napoleon age 6 years, Marie A. age 1 year and Philomene Lepage age 10 years who was Eleonore's daughter from her first marriage.

I think someone has posted at Ancestry.com that same Augustin and Eleonore had additional children Merenda, Israel and Samuel Rousseau, but I think this information is wrong- these 3 children were born after 1852 and I think whoever posted this family info has some Rousseau families mixed up.

Please post here or write to me directly- one of my sons in law is a direct descendent in this family line.

Thanks from Nora
