I am also researchiing the various Rousseau/Rezeau lines. The ones I am really interested in are thoses who migrated from Saintonge, France. That is the line I believe are mine. I do know for certain that my line are not Catholic. They were French Huguenots. Do you know what fithJean and Marie were? I think, but am not certain that Honore and Marie were Catholic.

Doest this lelp any? I am glad that someone is searchins the early lines. I an searching Pierre and Daniel Rousseaux, who I believe landed at Staten Island, NY very early. There were either 4 or 5 brothers who, when very, very young, came to America. The fathers name was Theodore DuRousseaux. He was a widower; first landed on the James River, in Va.
I have been trying to research Theo. as well as other possible Rousseau families. One thing I know for certain. My family have always been Hughenots. There were no Catholics. That makes it a litte easier to keep the families streight.
I believe three of the brothers might have been: Daniel, Pierre, Nicholas, James.
Don't know if you have any of the info included.

Keep in touch if yu like. I do have a bit of info, but not in Canada, only in the states. Another thing- my line who were Huguenots, some landed on Statten Osland and some either landed or moved to New York, The families in New York were Huguenots, and had come from the Netherlands.

Good luck.

PS Iprob. will never go back to this site. My email is egodfrey@ttlc.net
