I have some info on Joaeph Thomas Rousseau. His parents were Louis Rousseau,b. 9-24-1824, St. Henri, Luszon, Que. d. 2-1892, Grand Forks, ND, married Luce Huard, 8-18-1846, St. Isidore, Beauce, Que. b. St. Henri, 1928, d. 4-10-1901, St. John. ND.
Joseph had 14 or 15 brother and sister, the last being Marie Germaine Florida Rousseaum although she used Brooks as her last name, married my grandfather, Alfred Plante. I know that Joseph married Hermine Gendron of St. Rosalie, Que. in 1875. This is taken from a magazine or book clipping. It gives his birth date as 1852 St. Elzeard de la Beuace, P.Q. and states: son of Louis Roussea,(no mohter given) a merchant, studied art locally and had private tuition,in Montreal under M. Ravau for 3 years, Went to Florence, Italy in 1882. Painted churches in St. Hyacinthe, Que. and other cities in Canada. I have several pages of history of his paintings but they are in French so can't read them. They were sent to me upon request from historical society in Saint Hyacinthe. I owned one of his paintings at one time but about 10 years ago donated to a church. It was about 4' by 6' and didn't have any place to hang that large a picture. I have been looking for more information on this man. Would like to know if he had any children and when and where he died. If you have any of this, please let me know. Joan
