Hello Marcel, wonder if you can help me by doing some look-ups for me? I would like any additional information I can find on either the Rousseau or Leduc side of my husband's family. My husband: Basil Rousseau, born in Pembroke, Ontario in 1938 and lived in Rapides des Joachims, Quebec, married Nancy Thompson on 08/12/1967 in Deep River, Ontario where we still live. Basil's father: Albert, married 02/19/12 to Mary Helen Dufoe (Dufault) and had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. Mary Helen and their youngest son died during a flu epidemic in the Hull, Quebec area, the other son was named George and one girl (name unknown). Albert had more than one brother and at least one sister. One brother was Edouard and one sister married a Brunet and lived in Plantageant, Ontario. We do not know of the other's names. Basil's mother: Christel Dufoe (Dufault) married Albert on 02/28/32). Christel was a first cousin of Albert's first wife Mary Helen. Christel and Albert had four children, Joan, Elva, Kelvin and Basil (my husband). Albert lived in Ste Andre Avelin, Quebec during his first marriage and had relatives at Notre dam de le Paux, Quebec, both villages are a short distant north west of Hull, Quebec. He lived in Rapides des Joachims, Quebec during his marriage to Christel Dufoe. They are both buried at Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Christel was born and raised in Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Basil's grandparents: Albert Rousseau married Albina Leduc in Ile Perrot, Quebec on 01/03/1882. DofD-unknown. Benjamin Dufault married Margaret Mirault in Rapides des Joachims, Quebec ? Benjamin died in 1935 and Margaret DOD unknown. Basil's great grandparents: Albin? Pierre Leduc and Virginie Ladurantaye, parents of Albina. DOD Unknown. Basil has been told that this line of the Leduc's immigrated from Rouen, Normandy, France to Quebec (New France)late 1600's or early 1700's. I do not know where they landed or when. Louis Rousseau and Julienne Mercier: no information This is about all of the info I can put together right now. I have just ordered a copy of FamilyTreeMaker so I will be able to get the information I have in order and will be able to tell what if anything I have missed. Any information you could help me with would be greatly appreciated. You can make corrections in the form below, and either preview your message again or post it.
