CONRAD RIEGEL, born about 1784, in the region of Rhenish Hesse, Germany, married at the same place, about 1809 with ELIZABETHA CATHARINA SCHMIDLEIN, born about 1785, at the same place. Parents of:
1- Johannes Riegel, born about 1810;
2- Catharina Riegel, born about 1812;
3- Maria Isabel Riegel, born about 1816;
4- Peter Riegel, born about 1818.
All emigrated to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1824, accompanied by 342 other German settlers, under the leadership of the Lutheran Evangelical Pastor Friederich Oswald Sauerbronn, leaving Den Helder Port, Holland, on shipboard of "S.S.Argus".
For a long time, I have been looking for the ancestrals of this couple in Germany, stock of a large progeny whose members may be counted now-a-days by the thousand, in Brazil.
