To all you North Carolina Ray (Rhea) and Baker's, please assist with the following if you can. thks, I am looking for information on the two people listed below. Who are their parents? I believe all this information to be of the same couple however if not true, please, your comments. Samuel Rhea - Ray b: abt 1825 in NC, md: Ashe Cty, NC (bond 31 March 1847 - Witness, Jno Ray) to Mary Baker b: abt. 1827 in NC 1) 1847 md: Ashe Cty (bond 31 March 1847) 2) 1850 census - Yancey Cty, NC (Samuel Ray age 23 and Mary Ray age 25) 3) 1860 census - Village of Jefferson, Ashe Cty. (Samuel Rhea, blacksmith, age 36 and Mary Ray, seamstress, age 35) 4) 1870 census - Speedwell, Wythe Cty. (Samuel Ray, blacksmith, age 45 and Mary Ray age 44) 5) 1880 census - Nothing. It appears Samual Ray was a Blacksmith serving in two different Ashe County civil war units. Co A, 26th NC Inf, and then transferred to Co. A of the 1st NC cavalry. He was a blacksmith in the Cav. I believe all the information above is of the same two people. Any feed back either positive or negative would be welcome. I believe Samuel and Mary to be my 3x great grand parents and my only two lines I cannot take into the 1700's. Thank you all for your time in this matter, Dave Wright Notify Administrator about this message?
