I have a land deed from my family in kentucky mentioning an estate of Robert Rhea, just thought I would share. i transcribed this the best I could, no punctuation, spelling errors, breaks in words, etc. all true to the original document that I have. This indenture made and entered onto the 4th day of June 1856 Between Philip J. Simons of the one part and Mary I Smith wife of Washing ton B Smith of the other part Both of the County of Hopkins and state of Kentucky Witness eth that the said Simons for and in consideration of the Love and affection which he bears to the said Mary I Smith his daughter and for the further consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Mary I Smith hath granted bargained and sold & by these parents doeth grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Mary I Smith during her natural life and at her death to the heir of her body forever a piece of parcel of ground situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid in the addition to the town of Madisonville con taining one acre being the same conveyed to said Simons by Edward W. R. Woolfolk & wife (see Deed Book No 7 P 371) & where the said Mary I Smith And her husband lately rendered and bound to as fol lows to wit Beginning on a stake the South West corner of a tract containing Seven acres more or less of which the acre hereby conveyed is a part heretofore conveyed by B.R. Bacon to said Woolfolk (See Deed Book No. 5 P. 400) and which is the corner of a lot of ground belonging to the estate of Robert Rhea and precisely where the line of Survey lately owned by Alfred King* intersects the Northern Edge of the street or road leading through Madisonville to Steuben Sick run ning then a North said line seventy yard to a stake in said line then a East seventy yards then a South Seventy yards to a stake in the North edge of said road or street then a West *Italic writing is due to this line being written in between the lines above and below it. Not on a line itself, apparently a correction to who the land now belongs to. Alfred King is believed to be the brother of Delia King, first wife of Philip J. Simons and mother of Mary I. Simons Smith. Delia King did have a brother named Alfred King, but I have yet to prove this is that exact Alfred King. Notify Administrator about this message?
