In researching the Barclays it has come to my attention that many Rhea postings are incorrect in regards to the Mary Rhea who married William Barclay and had sons Achibald Rhea and Hugh Gaylord Barclay in TN. Several sites show Mary to be a daughter of Archibald Rhea and Catherine Sevier (md 1803), but Mary (Polly) was born in Virginia in October 1779 and would therefore seem to be his sister instead, and presumably a daughter of Archibald Barclay Sr. and Margaret. This information can be verified by census data as well as their gravesites in Talladega, AL. I realise that Mary is not shown anywhere as being a daughter of Archibald Sr but I haven't been able to come up with any other ideas.
