pg 13: David RUSSELL secured large grants on Twelve Mile Creek in 1796............................................

John RAY a year or two before the settlements on that creek came from Wilkes County and occupied a large grant on Panther Creek.............................................

.....Twelve Mile Creek is the one now called Fines Creek.


The Record Shows: John RAY, Revolutionary War Soldier and a resident of Wilkes Co., NC., settled in Haywood Co., NC., ca 1794/1795.
