Hi Jim,
Have you researched the Wrays from Southampton co Va. There was a George Wray who died I believe in 1756 in Elizabeth City Co Va or Southampton co Va. I think Elizabeth City co Va was a county near Southampton co Va back then but does not exist now. I believe he had five children. If you look at a map of Va Southampton co Va was the county just east of Brunswick co Va. Greenville co Va is now just east of Brunswick co Va. The area of Brunswick co Va where George Wray bought land in 1769 on Quarell Swamp in southeast Brunswick co Va looks like it was not very far from Southampton co Va. Maybe my George Wray born in the 1740's was a descendant of Capt George Wray who died in 1756. I have focused on Brunswick co Va but since Southampton co Va was so close and jsut to the east of Brunswick co Vathere could be a chance he was from the Saouthampton co Va Wrays. Would you have any information about them? Thanks,Ross
