Hi Jim
George Wray sold his southeast Brunswick co Va land about 1776. He and wife Rachel were in Bute co NC in 1778 and Bute co NC became Warren co NC in 1779. Warren co NC is just south of Brunswick co Va. Would you know if people were leaving Brunswick co Va about 1776 because of battles in that area? What I find interesting is that even during the Revolutionary War deeds were being recorded. Although there ws a war going on people were buying and sellling land and apparently taxes were bring collected etc. I assume the House of Burgess received the taxes collected and if I understand it right the House of Burgess answered to the king of England. thanks, Ross
