Ross: You should check countie formations, concerning luenburg and bedford county's, check marriages for those county's, and did you see the post by ace about george wray in charlston s. c. in 1780, it may be that george wray got stranded in charlston in the siege of 1780, and quite possibability he and his wife decided to settle there, up in virginia at that time was a big mess, one of the places that the clonflict was raging full bore it was not a good place to be at that time, thousands fled with good reason the reagiopn was not stable with 2 opposing army's, their foraging party's in search of food for their troops alone was enough to make anyone leave for more peaceful area's....a little realized fact not look at very much is that only about 1/4 of the total popolation took an active part in the rebellion, the most people just wished both sides would just go away and leave them alone, life was hard enough just to survive without the war....jim
