Ross: I have no proof of this but if you remember george wray was named as a land agent for william byrd and others who were owners of land there about lunenburg co, in an advertisment in the virginia gazette in the 1740's, I think it mentioned 20,000ac or better, it would seem to me george jr would have inherited some land from george sr, it could be possible george sr may have either bought some of that land or took some for his services, you should check the land deeds for luenburg co and capt. george wray sr's will, george jr could have even bought land on his own up there, a fact of history is william byrd at ft smith (site of the old occanachee village) recruited about 250 farmer and family to go up there to settle that area along the james river and its tributary's....jim
