The name Christmas appears to be a traditional naming pattern that was derived from Mary Christmas a wife of the earliest Thomas Ray. I beleive our Garrard Kentucky Rays the Zacharia line come down from a Christmas Ray to his son Andrew Ray to his son Samuel Ray to Zacharia Ray. Believing is one thing proving it is another matter, I came upon Christmas Ray with a Thomas Ray 1724 this may be the same Thomas who was in Granville 1749.
