Jim,

I do not know who the father of Ambrose RAy of Union CO SC is. Worth Ray say it is John Ray of Prince Edward Co VA. However, he is not the son of John RAY and Susan VANCE?/ Salisbury? as proved by Brent Holcomb. That John Ray would been in SC and died in Appling Co GA ca 1784. He had a son Ambrose, and other children John, Joseph Zachariah etc. Two sons married Bobo's, children of Lewis Bobo. I am wondering if this John RAy (married Susan) could be a brother to Ambrose of Union SC.

I also think he is related to George Ray of Indian Creek, Newberry SC 1767. A John RAy lived on Mudlick Creek 1768. The creeks are about 8 miles apart. I've got more on this later today.
