William of Moccasin Creek, Wake County, did have a son named William and also a son named Thomas who served in the American Revolution and moved to Indiana(I think). I have seen some info that said he and a son named Charles who died in the American Revolution. There was also a son named Hudson who died. Early on a Gabriel Ray was a chain carrier for William SR. Here is some info on William Head who was married to Henrietta Ray, and sold land to George Ray. William Heads' sister was Diana Ray who was married to Enoch Pearson. The Pearson's were Quaker and came with the other group( the info I sent you)down the Great Wagon Road and settled in Newberry SC about 1767. There were several Enoch's and one was a surveyor who surveyed the land for George Ray. "Enoch Pearson and Diana Head had 10 children. Enoch was born april 1757 Bucks, PA and Diana was born in 1760 Granville, NC. Enochs father is John Pearson born 1731, son of Enoch Pearson born January 1672/73 Chester, England. Diana's father is William Head born 1735 Culpeper VA, Son of James Head, son of William Head the younger, Son of William Head the elder. The Pearson family came from England as Quakers in the 1680's. There is a wealth of information published on the Net for both families." from Pearson Genforum Melissa Notify Administrator about this message?
