In Reply to: Dr. Arthur B. Ralph father of Caroline Ralph King b.c.1839 Ray Co., Mo by JL Hare of 720

I've gathered some more information. It's all very rough but hope it helps someone else looking for this line:

Per Brasher Cemetary Records (Orrick Twp., Ray Co., Mo.), Dr. Arthur B. Ralph was born 25 December 1800 and died 19 June 1888. According to the Missouri State Archives, A.B. Ralph was an assistant surgeon during the Heatherly War in Missouri (22nd Reg, 2nd Brigade, 1st Division), as well as in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Serving in the Missouri Third Regiment, Infantry, A.B. was an M.D. under the command of Col. L. M. Lewis. I am still looking for more information on his military service.

A.B. married Mary Walker Brashear c. 1829 in Columbia, Boone Co. Mo. Census/burial records indicate the following children:

Zaza Dowell Ralph
b. 27 May 1830, Ray Co., Mo. (conflicting dates as his burial lists his birth date as 27 Nov 1830 so don't know if it's my handwriting or...)
d. 16 Jan 1901. Buried in the Richmond City Cemetary
m. Martha A. Simpson c. 1851 - Martha was b. 1 Feb 1836 and d. 2 Oct. 1923. She is buried in the Richmond City Cemetary, along with Zaza.
List of Camden Twp, Ray Co., Mo. - Rejected as voters as shown by the records of registration for the year AD 1868:
Ralph, Zaza D. - Aiding Rebellion.

Darwin Ralph
b.c. 1833, Ray Co., Mo.

Arthur B. Ralph Jr.
b.c. 1836, Ray Co., Mo.

Caroline Ralph
b.c. 1839, Ray Co., Mo.
m. William J. King 24 March 1859
d. 17 Mar 1862 (aged 23Y, 5M, 22D)
I have not been able to find any definitive information on William.

Lucy
b.c. 1843, Ray, Co. Mo.
m. William H. Campbell c. 1867. William was a doctor who also served in the Confederate Army. Still looking for more military records. A.B. Ralph was living with Lucy and William in the 1880 census. A "Bell Ralph" age 24 was also listed with the family. Single, she was referred to as a sister in law, both parents being born in NC. Also included in this household is a black servant, Elizabeth Ralph, 21.

Mary
b.c. 1849, Ray Co., Mo.
d. 23 Nov 1879 (30Y, 8M, 7D)

A.B. Ralph is listed in the Poll Book of Election of State Representatives in 1831 in Richmond Township. There is an 1866 Voter Registration for an A. B. Ralph, but not sure if this was for Sr. or Jr.

Brasher Cemetary Burials (Orrick Twp) lists the following Ralphs:

Caroline Ralph (see above)
Dr. A.B. Ralph (see above)
Georgia A. Ralph wife of B.C. Ralph. Daughter of A.D. and E. Brasher. Died 19 Feb 1883 at 24Y.
Infant Ralph - son of B.C. and G.A. Ralph. Born/died 29 June 1879.
Infant Ralph #2 - son of B.C. and G.A. Ralph. Born 14 Aug 1877. Died 15 Aug 1877
Mary Ralph - Daughter of A.B. and Mary Ralph (see above)

Lee Ralph was kind enough to send me the following:

A.B. is the (presumed) son of Isaac Ralph/Relph of Guilford Co., NC. There is an Isaac Relph in the 1790, 1800 and 1810 census. Siblings may include Tapley, Roland (Rollen, Rollin...) and sister, Mary. Per Lee, Isaac died in Guilford, NC, where the children were born. Also per Lee, Tapley died in KS. Roland possibly died in Ray Co., Mo. I did find a Tapley Ralph marrying a Nancy Harrison in Guilford NC on 4 Aug 1810. I don't know if this is the correct Tapley yet.
