Ralph's in N.S.W. Australia?

I am the granddaughter of Maria Wilson (nee Ralph) born in Settle, Yorkshire, England, 30.12.1870 and have traced the family back to 1744.

The family I hope to find in N.S.W. is descended from Maria's brother Thomas (born 1873 in Settle, Yorkshire). Thomas moved with his parents to Colne, Lancashire in the late 1870s and married firstly Annie Trickett, then Lilian. In the early 1900s Thomas and Lillian emigrated to N.S.W. There were 3 children, Victor, Leslie and Edith. During the 1914-1918 war Victor was in the ANZACS and served in Egypt. He was captured and made a German P.O.W for four years. After the war he came to Colne and was nursed back to health by his Aunt Maria. My mother Mabel Wilson was very fond of Victor. Victor returned to N.S.W and married Ruby. During the 1950s and 60s Maria corresponded regularly with the family in Narooma, but Maria died in 1963 (when I was 16) and I no longer have an address.

The Ralph line in England has now died out and only exists as Christian names - my cousin is John Ralph Birtwistle and my son Martin Ralph Petty - but I am hopeful that you may know of Thomas and Victor's family and would be willing to share any information with me. I have an interesting family tree and would be pleased to share it with anyone.

Yours most sincerely

Mrs Jennifer Petty
