Cathi,

I do not know if you have found out any more information since you posted last. I have some information that may or may not be of use to you. My husband's Great Great Grandfather, born in 1854 was named Henry Frederick Carl Rabe. Born near Quincy, IL. His son's name was Christian John Jacob Rabe and was born in 1878. The family was also Evangelical Lutheran.

I don't know for sure if there would be a link here, but there seems to be some similar information, in a remotely similar area. I know that Henry's father moved to the Quincy area from St. Louis and is believed to be the first immigrant in the family. However, no additional information is known about Christian's family.

If you think there is any possible connection here, I would love to hear from you!

God Bless and Happy Searching,
Lisa Pye-Rabe
