My Great grandfather's brother, not sure of name- may be Christian or Peter??? went to Africa about the time of the BOAR War. He was b. in 1840's in Oldendorf bei (by) Hermannsberg, Hannover, Germany. The siblings of this man were, my ggfa Johann Peter Heinrich "Henry" b. 1848 came to Henry Co. Ohio; Marie b. 18?? md. a Heinrich Baden--stayed in Germany;Christopher b. 1841 md. Mary Corlus / Cordes / Cohrs in 1875 came to S. Dakota. The 2 that came to USA came in Aug..1883. I have a picture of the son of the one that went to Africa. He is in military uniform I believe his name was Hermann. The wife & Children were killed during the war. Obviously Hermann was in army. Contact me if this sounds familiar. Direct please.
