Anna Rolfe is shown as having been born in 1648 in the family bible of REVEREND John Perry Barnett. This used to be in the Indiana State Libray but was mislaid with recent remodeling. There is an English line for Wm Barnett, born 1613, another 1645, and a later Wm too. Another Wm Barnett, a Frenchman, came to America in 1662 and married Anna Rolfe in 1664. These lines may have been mixed up. A John Barnett marries Katherine Farrar at Farrar Island, or Henricus.
There is another John Barnett in Orange, Virginia with a Gibbs connection. One of these John's is supposed to be a brother. This becomes important because the following 3 children were born to Anne Rolfe and William: Plus other children. Jane Barnett b, 1665, who marries a White. Henry b, 1670. A John Barnett. Girls may have married Stewart, Johnson etc. I have talked and writen to members of the White family who have very good data. Until this missing generation is worked out, proper research will probably not be able to be done on the Barnett family. There is a ANOTHER Henry James Barnett b. 1704 0r 1707, that had a 24 children, the first of which James, is born in 1735. I presume the Henry b. in 1670 id the father of Henry James Barnett.
There were several Anne/Ann/Anne Barnetts in the 1600's and they need to be straightened out. The research does not seem to be out on the web, but it has been existant in family files.
