Kathryn I can recall a Major in the Royal Marines. I served from 1963 to 1974 in the Royal Marines. He was Maj. Peter Pennell and took part in the suppression of a mutiny involving the African Rifles, Dar es Salaam, Tangynika, January 1964 when Peter was serving with 45 Commando RM.
I believe he lived in Cheltenham on his retirement.
There was also a Lieutenant Colonel Richard Pennell DSO, Military Knight of Windsor who appears on the role of recepients of the 1937 Jubilee Medal, trust this will assist.
Richard Pennell, Whitchurch, Tavistock Devon
